Distinguished guests, including the Bahraini ambassador to the U.S. and Canada, gathered to celebrate the Abraham Accords and new healthcare collaborations.

Friends of Sheba from Canada Hosted Under the Stars Gala

In June, the Friends of Sheba from Canada, an organization dedicated to spreading awareness and raising support for Sheba Medical Center’s compassionate care, cutting-edge research, and comprehensive educational training, hosted the prestigious Under the Stars Gala. Celebrating the Abraham Accords as well as the new era of peace, collaboration, and coexistence they ushered in, the event featured prominent speakers, including Yoel Har-Even, Director of Sheba Global, and His Excellency Abdulla Bin Rashed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the U.S. and Canada.

During a live panel discussion, the two discussed the positive impact of the Abraham Accords on international healthcare collaborations.

After signing the Abraham Accords in 2020, which normalized relations between Israel and several other Middle Eastern countries, healthcare collaborations soon began to blossom.

The Bahrain Supreme Council of Health recently chose Sheba Medical Center to lead medical cooperation between the two countries, and agreements were reached with two large Bahraini hospitals: Salmaniya Medical Complex and King Hamad University Hospital. Sheba also signed a memorandum of understanding with health authorities in Abu Dhabi, and is already providing healthcare services to local residents via its virtual hospital, Sheba Beyond.
