WEEKLY TOP 5
YOUR WEEKLY UPDATES FROM SHEBA MEDICAL CENTER
A Rollercoaster of Emotions
A quiet week in Israel is a rarity these days, as the entire nation is enveloped in a rollercoaster of emotions.
This week is no different, as we will all be either glued to the TV screens or physically bid a final farewell to Shiri Bibas, H’YD and her two young children, Kfir and Ariel, H’YD, who were murdered in cold blood by Gazan terrorists. We offer our heartfelt condolences to Yarden Bibas, who was freed after 484 days in captivity, and spent his first week of freedom recuperating within the warm and welcoming confines of Sheba Medical Center, waiting for the final word on the fate of his family.
One can only hope that the signs of life from the dozens of remaining hostages trapped in Gaza will translate into their release in the coming days and weeks, as time is of the essence!
On a more optimistic note, “Fauda” star and renowned singer Idan Amedi, who was treated at Sheba after being severely wounded in Gaza, lauded Dr. Yoram Klein, head of the Trauma & Urgent Surgery Unit, at a recent concert where Dr. Klein was in attendance (you can watch the interaction in an Israel Hayom Instagram post below).
Aside from tending to Amedi, Dr. Klein has worked around the clock to save the lives of hundreds of civilians and soldiers alike since October 7.
We are also waiting with great anticipation, as NEWSWEEK & Statista will release their annual “World’s Best Hospital” global rankings in the coming days. As this has been one of the most challenging years in the history of Sheba Medical Center, we hope to fortify our position as one of the Top 10 “World’s Best Hospitals” and #1 in Israel. Stay tuned!
