Yoel Har-Even, VP of Global Affairs, emphasized the institution’s integral role in Israel’s national fabric. Prof. Itai Pessach, Director of the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital shared insights from Sheba’s response to the aftermath of the October 7th events and the medical center’s efforts for receiving, treating, and rehabilitating returning hostages.
Dr. Ellay Hogeg-Golan shared a deeply personal testimony about surviving the October 7th attack with her family, recounting their harrowing escape from their burning home in the kibbutz, and emphasized the widespread impact of trauma on Israeli society, while highlighting Sheba’s crucial role as a national anchor in healing both the visible and invisible wounds of the nation.
