An Unprecedented Achievement for the State of Israel-Sheba Medical Center Climbs to #8 On Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals List!

Ranked On the Global List for the 7th Consecutive Year

In an unprecedented achievement for the State of Israel and the local healthcare system,

Sheba Medical Center has moved up to #8, amongst the Top 10 Best Hospitals in the World, as ranked by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry-ranking provider. This is the 7th consecutive year in which Sheba has been lauded as a “World’s Best Hospital” by the internationally renowned magazine and tabbed as the #1 hospital in Israel.

This accolade is emblematic of Sheba’s determination and resilience in a turbulent region, as well as a testament to Sheba’s indefatigable dedication to providing innovative healthcare to nearly 2 million people a year-Jews, Moslems and Christians alike.

During the past year, Sheba Medical Center launched an ambitious AI (Artificial Intelligence)

program throughout the hospital via its globally renowned ARC innovation ecosystem that is destined to transform the Israeli healthcare system and the future of health on a global scale.

“As the flagship of the national healthcare system in Israel, it is incumbent upon us to offer the highest quality of medical care to the general public. We will continue to move forward and spur economic growth within the healthcare sector by inspiring revolutionary innovation and long-term investments in research and development. Innovative healthcare is an inseparable component of economic growth within the Israeli economy and plays a major role in regional growth and collaboration,” said Professor Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center.

The World’s Best Hospitals 2025 ranking lists the best hospitals (nearly 2400) within 30 countries which comprise: USA, Germany, Japan, France, Israel, Italy, United Kingdom, South Korea, Brazil, India, Spain, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Singapore etc.

The lists are based on several factors including:

  • Recommendations from Medical Experts: Online survey among tens of thousands of doctors, health care professionals, and hospital managers in 30 countries
  • Results from Patient Surveys: Survey of patient satisfaction with hospitalization
  • Hospital Quality Metrics: Medical indicators e.g., data on quality of care for treatments, hygiene measures, patient safety, and waiting times.
  • PROMs Implementation Survey: Optional online survey on the implementation and use of PROMs in hospitals.

Based on the various pillars and their respective weights, a final score was calculated for each hospital.
