“This is yet another testament to the hard work of our talented and forward-thinking medical teams,” commented Sheba Director General, Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, shortly upon receiving the news.

Newsweek Magazine’s Survey Since 2019

Since 2019, Newsweek Magazine, in collaboration with Statista Inc., a respected global market research and consumer data firm, has ranked the world’s best hospitals based on a global survey of doctors, healthcare professionals, and administrators across four continents and 28 countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Israel.

Today, we are delighted to announce that for the fifth year in a row, Newsweek Magazine and Statista have named Sheba, alongside other renowned medical institutions such as Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Toronto General, as one of the world’s best hospitals. Sheba has also been recognized as the best hospital in Israel and the GCC/MENA (Gulf, Middle East) regions.

According to Sheba Director General Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, this latest distinction is ” a testament to our talented and innovative medical staff, which on an annual basis treat nearly two million people from all walks of life in Israel and around the world, to be nominated for the fifth consecutive year by Newsweek Magazine and Statista as a World’s Best Hospital. Never resting on our laurels, we endeavor to not only provide groundbreaking medical care to people in our region but also to lead the global healthcare revolution, which has already enabled us to provide hope without boundaries from the UAE and USA, to Ukraine, Turkey and beyond.”

In an effort to provide the best data-based comparison of hospital reputation and performance, Newsweek Magazine and Statista developed a complex methodology, utilizing four data sources to determine the final ranking: recommendations from more than 80,000 doctors, hospital managers, and healthcare professionals; patient experience surveys; patient-reported outcome measures; and hospital quality metrics, including patient safety, hygiene measures, waiting times, and quality of care.

Following Sheba’s inclusion in Newsweek Magazine’s 2023 list of world’s best smart hospitals, as well as best cardiology, neurosurgery, and gastroenterology hospital rankings, this most recent recognition is truly a testament to the medical center’s growing global footprint. Our gratitude goes out to the incredible, hardworking individuals whose efforts have enabled Sheba to bring about meaningful change in healthcare.
