Israel’s National Burn Center: Advanced Care for Complex Needs

As Israel’s leading medical center, as well as the national referral unit for burn treatment, Sheba is committed to providing first-class care for anyone suffering a burn injury, from Israel or abroad.

Covering 820 sqm, Sheba’s National Burns Center boasts six private intensive care rooms for severe burn victims as well as two step-down patient rooms that can house 12, all designed specifically to provide burn victims with the best possible care and the ideal rehabilitation environment. The center also includes facilities dedicated to physiotherapy, medical staff rooms, and a private waiting area for patient families. 

Thanks to their unique design, patient rooms and treatment areas provide comprehensive protection against bacteria and viruses, using the most advanced construction techniques along with cutting-edge air/water purification and sanitation systems.

The Need: Ensuring Our Children Receive the Burn Care They Deserve

Burns are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in children, and are, in fact, most common among children aged 0-4, which account for 78% of all burn injuries. Pediatric burn victims not only require facilities tailored to their unique clinical needs, but also differ in their more complex psychological requirements. Designed with adults in mind, Sheba’s Burn Center requires substantial modifications to answer the special needs of young patients.
