WEEKLY TOP 5
YOUR WEEKLY UPDATES FROM SHEBA MEDICAL CENTER
Reflecting Back & Moving Forward
The recent Sukkot/Simchat Torah holiday gave Sheba’s medical and administrative staffs a chance to reflect on what happened exactly a year ago on Simchat Torah, when the murderous havoc in the Gazan border communities impacted almost everyone in different ways (watch Dr. Jordanna Koppel’s powerful interview in this week’s edition below).
The sad truth is that not much has changed, as the Iron Swords war has expanded exponentially to include Lebanon, where nearly 100 seriously wounded soldiers have been whisked to Sheba to receive a myriad of treatments. Even as you are reading this, our renowned “Returning to Life” rehabilitation hospital is once again nearly full with injured soldiers from both the Gazan and Lebanese battlegrounds.
The resilience of our medical staff to provide life-saving treatments and tender loving care to our vaunted warriors is unprecedented in the world at this point in history.
Our specially appointed “returning hostages” medical and support teams are also waiting ever so patiently to tend to the needs of those who might be released by Hamas/Islamic Jihad in the coming days and weeks (read more in this week’s edition below).
If you think clearly about what is transpiring on a daily basis here, we are not existing within a healthy situation. However, much to our chagrin, this has become the “new normal” for Sheba’s staff and the citizens of Israel.
