The distinguished Sheba Canada Returning to Life Gala featured a number of notable guests who gathered to support Sheba’s initiatives toward the recovery of our patients.

On the evening of May 16th, the Sheba Canada Returning to Life Gala was held at the esteemed Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto. The night of discussion, networking and entertainment had a number of distinguished guests in attendance, including the 22nd Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honorable Stephen J. Harper, who delivered a keynote address, and Canadian producer and former television host Ben Mulroney, who served as the evening’s master of ceremonies.

Also there was Sheba’s VP of Global Affairs, Yoel Har-Even, Dr. Liran Levy, the Medical Director of Sheba’s Lung Transplant Program and Mendel, Gaya, and Shilo, three courageous soldiers who were rehabilitated at Sheba’s ‘Returning to Life’ unit after sustaining injuries in combat while in Gaza.

The purpose of this formal gathering was to raise funds for Sheba’s Eucalyptus Forest project. Spanning 1.7 acres within a serene eucalyptus forest on the Sheba grounds, this sanctuary is meticulously designed to offer a comprehensive therapeutic experience for individuals impacted by tragedy.

Since October 7th there has been a spike in psychological trauma across the Israeli population. The Eucalyptus Forest will serve to aid them on their journey toward mental recovery and a better life. It will provide spaces for physical activity, opportunities for social engagement and support, and tranquil environments conducive to stress reduction.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters who made it to the event. It is your generosity and encouragement that empowers us to realize our initiatives and extend hope beyond borders.
