Sheba is proud to announce the integration of the FibroScan630, an advanced ultrasound device, into the Liver Diseases Center of Excellence.

This innovative technology measures liver scarring (fibrosis) and fat content (steatosis) with unparalleled precision.

The FibroScan630 is not only capable of assessing liver elasticity but also evaluates spleen stiffness, crucial for determining the severity of portal hypertension, a complication of liver diseases. Sheba is the first public medical center in Israel to implement this technology and the second overall in the country.

Dr. Ehud (Udi) Zigmond, who oversees this advanced service at Sheba’s Institute of Gastroenterology, leads the team dedicated to providing exceptional care with FibroScan630. This tool allows for accurate assessments that can sometimes replace invasive procedures like gastroscopy, improving both patient comfort and diagnostic accuracy.

At Sheba, our commitment to cutting-edge technology ensures that we deliver the highest standard of care for patients with liver and spleen conditions.
