RAMAT GAN, Israel – November 9, 2022 – Physicians from Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest medical center and a Newsweek top-10 ranked world’s best hospital for the last four years, were recognized by Forbes magazine this week as among the best in Israel, with the hospital ranking as the Israeli health institution with the most amount of specialists on the Forbes 2022 Best Doctors list for the country.
A total of 222 specialist physicians from Sheba made it to the list of 1,428 doctors, which included 36 specialties across various medical fields. Sheba physicians lead in several specialties, including obstetrics, gynecology and fertility, cardiology, endocrinology, genetics, internal medicine, oncology, psychiatry, and rheumatology. Overall, Sheba physicians lead in around 50 percent of the specialties.
Sheba’s latest achievement follows its recognition earlier this year by the Ministry of Health as Israel’s top performing hospital. In the ministry’s report on Israel’s national quality of care indices, Sheba led in all categories and received a score of 100% across 13 different indices, more than any other medical center in Israel.
Additionally, Sheba has been recognized for its quality of care as a top 10 “World’s Best Hospital” by Newsweek magazine for the past four years. The ranking has been maintained by virtue of Sheba’s cutting-edge medical technologies including the launch of “Sheba Beyond,” the hospital’s tele-health platform, which was recently deployed to Eastern Europe to treat Ukrainian refugees fleeing war.
