Sheba’s Monaco Gala, hosted under the patronage of H.S.H Prince Albert II, raised awareness and funds for the “Returning to Life” rehabilitation unit.

Under the esteemed patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Sheba Medical Center in Israel hosted a fundraising event at the Yacht Club de Monaco on July 25, 2024. The charitable auction, along with supplementary donations, successfully generated over €1,000,000 in support of the “Returning to Life” Rehabilitation unit at Sheba Medical Center.

Since the atrocities that took place on October 7th, Sheba has reinforced its dedication to spreading hope and has treated countless victims of the initial attacks as well as soldiers coming off the frontlines.

Representing Sheba at the event was Kfar Azza resident and October 7th survivor Erez Yatzkan, who spoke in depth about his experience as a patient at the “Returning to Life ” unit. Erez also donated two of his sculptures to the charity auction, which he completed during his recovery. Attendees also heard from Sheba’s Head of Micro and Orthoplastic Surgery Dr. Steinberger. During his speech he talked about the nine surgeries he performed that ultimately saved Erez’s hands.

Sheba’s Acting Director of the General Hospital, Prof. Arnon Afek, hosts Dorit and Marc Assaraf, Dr. Yana and Dr. Karl Hauptmann as co-sponsors of the event were pleased to welcome over 160 esteemed guests from every corner of the world. Among them was Chella Safra and Hollywood actor Nathaniel Buzolic, who gave a stirring speech against antisemitism.

Proving musical highlights through the event were Violinist Anna Agre and pianist Inna Surzhenko. A big thanks also has to be extended to host, actress, and model Dany Michalski who guided the audience through the program. We would also like to extend our appreciation to Parisian auction specialist Geoffroy Ader, who processed all the donations and proceeds which will entirely benefit the “Returning to Life” rehabilitation unit.
