The “Beauty” of Sheba’s Innovative Patient Care

One of the unique aspects of this newsletter, which now has tens of thousands of subscribers, is that I am able to reveal many heretofore unknown aspects about Sheba Medical Center.

Two prime examples that are highlighted in this week’s edition revolve around how innovation combined with a bit of TLC (tender loving care) in the ER, one of the most challenging environments for ANY hospital and rehabilitation can make a world of difference in patient care.

Our ‘Patient Experience’ teams across the campus are charged with dealing with a myriad of personal issues revolving around patients, who come from different backgrounds and have entered the ER in both physical and emotional pain.

Through the eyes of Miss Universe Israel, Melanie Shiraz, one gets a sneak peek at some of the rehabilitative tech we are using to return patients to a normal life after experiencing injuries to the body and soul.

Melanie has done an incredible job telling Israel’s story even after competing in the global pageant, using her unique position to generate positive buzz amidst the torrent of anti-Semitic diatribe across all media platforms. We commend her courage and intelligence and thank her for the profound interest in Sheba, as Melanie is a start-up entrepreneur herself!

At the 20th anniversary Healing & Hope Gala at the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz supporters once again rallied behind Sheba, known as the “Hospital of Peace,” raising more than €1.5 million in a single evening and bringing the cumulative total over 20 years to an impressive €16.5 million.
