White House Acknowledges Sheba’s Humanitarian Outreach to Hostages
While President Donald Trump never made it to Sheba during his most recent trip to Israel due to his overloaded schedule, he did not forget this hospital’s contribution in playing a vital role in returning nearly 60 former hostages to their daily lives through the tender loving care of the medical and support staffs.
Last week, with many of the last group of returned hostages in attendance at the Oval Office, Dr. Noya Shilo along with two of her colleagues from other metro Tel Aviv hospitals, were feted by President Trump, which garnered headlines around the world. Dr. Shilo has played a vital role in the special Sheba hostage recovery unit aka ‘Returning to Life’ during the course of the 2-year hostage saga.
“While our visit to the White House has ended, our mission to tend to the needs of the returning hostages has not. It is our privilege and our obligation to continue to support them and their families through ongoing rehabilitation for as long as needed,” Dr. Shilo proudly proclaimed.
Sheba has consistently generated headlines in the USA and around the globe during the past week, highlighted by both the White House event and the ground-breaking agreement signed by both Sheba and Mt. Sinai Medical Center (NY) with NVIDIA, the trillion dollar plus global technology company, in order to use AI to unlock the hidden codes of the human genome. At the Globes Conference in Tel Aviv this week, Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center revealed, “AI is the greatest healthcare revolution since Hippocrates.”
