Sheba and MD Anderson: Sister Institutions

As sister institutions, Sheba and MD Anderson continue to collaborate closely in all aspects of oncological treatment.

“As a former trainee and member of MD Anderson Cancer Center’s faculty, and as a member of Sheba Medical Center’s leadership, I know both systems very well,” explains Prof. Amir Onn, program director of the Sheba-MD Anderson Cancer Center Sister Institution Program. “It became obvious that combining the capabilities and drive to excel of both Centers would greatly benefit our institutions and our patients.  Our shared vision is to advance knowledge in cancer research for the benefit of cancer patients in Israel, Texas, and worldwide.”

The Sheba and MD Anderson agreement is aimed at promoting comprehensive cooperation in oncology training, treatment, as well as research, and includes joint programs in physician education and training, clinical services, research collaborations, quality assurance initiatives, faculty exchange visits, scientific endeavors, nursing and other technical support staff training, and more.
