Sheba’s Story

Established in 1948, Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s City of Health, is the largest, most comprehensive healthcare facility in the Middle East and one of the top 10 hospitals in the world for the last four years running according to Newsweek magazine. Since its inception, Sheba has shouldered the national responsibility of promoting and developing the Israeli healthcare system and introducing it to medical breakthroughs.

Its mission, as outlined in our creed, ‘Hope Without Boundaries,’ is to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and comprehensive care to patients in need from across the globe: regardless of color, creed, religion, or nationality.

Sheba’s medical campus includes an acute care hospital, large maternity, cancer, and heart centers, as well as pediatric and rehabilitation hospitals. With over 1,700 physicians, 1.9 million patients treated annually, and 4,000 active research projects, Sheba is a leader in both clinical care and medical research.

Sheba’s Vision

“We believe that only groundbreaking medicine can provide a solution for the deepest human need – the need for hope. Hope for relief and a true improvement in quality of living. Hope to realize more dreams. Even when it seems that we are at a dead end, Sheba – thanks to its teams’ professionalism, determination, and dedication – successfully breaks new ground, rendering the impossible – possible.
Because hope has no boundaries.”
