Revitalizing the body and soul of our heroes – rehabilitation equipment

THE INSTITUTE FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT

The Institute for Pain Management provides a wide array of treatments for chronic pain, which cover medical management, IV and injection treatments, ablative, radio frequency heat procedures and cryoanalgesia, spinal cord stimulator and special palliative treatment protocols for patients coming toward the end of their lives.

RETURNING TO LIFE

Sheba’s ‘Returning to Life’ rehabilitation unit is a highly advanced and contemporary therapeutic complex that brings together traditional therapy methods and some of the newest technological advances. The unit houses three rehabilitation pools, a rehabilitation therapy area, a gym. areas for individual treatment, as well as new refurbished occupations; therapy are and physiotherapy halls. It also offers patients telerehabilitation for remote care.

GENERAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

The General Intensive Care Unit at Sheba stands as Israel’s largest and most advanced facility of its kind. Housing both intensive care and intermediate care sections, it boasts cutting-edge life support and monitoring technologies. Our team of top specialists ensures unparalleled expertise and care for all patients.

BUILDING A BETTER TOMORROW FOR OUR CHILDREN

A dedicated CT room will significantly lower the risk of radiation-related ailments in children with the Apex Platform CT Machine ensuring they will relieve the highest standard of care with the least possible risk. Pediatric patients will benefit from reduced radiation dose, decreased transfers and unnecessary delays.

Advanced Biotherapy Center

The Advanced Biotherapy Center will act as a translational bridge, accelerating basic research to advanced therapeutics. Led by a team of dedicated medical professionals,  and equipped with cutting-edge facilities, it will address a spectrum of medical challenges, from single gene disorders to complex organ-related issues, improving patient care and outcomes.

Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Dept

There is a growing need for more advanced, inclusive child psychiatry services has several roots including heightened parental awareness, earlier diagnoses, and a rising prevalence of psychiatric issues such as depression due to exposure to shaming, increased instances of childhood outbursts and self-harming behaviors.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases the amount of oxygen in the blood by having a patient breathe 100% pure oxygen in a special hyperbaric chamber. This extra oxygen can then help fight bacteria and promote healing.

Hyperbaric chambers already exist in Israel for various medical indications, but Sheba planned to repurpose them specifically for casualties of the Swords of Iron war.

Advanced Surgery Wing

The Surgery Wing’s larger, specialized ORs are designed to accommodate cutting-edge surgical technologies, including advanced navigation systems, robotics, and next-generation imaging with reduced radiation for orthopedic procedures. This strategic enhancement aligns with Sheba’s commitment to delivering the highest standards of care and innovation in surgical treatments.

THE NEW INSTITUTE OF NEPHROLOGY AND DIALYSIS

In the new 2,500sqm Institute of Nephrology & Dialysis currently being built will provide a pleasant, innovative and advanced environment for patients. In collaboration with Sheba’s digital transformation division, we are developing additional amenities that will go beyond our current medical and nursing services, to create a peaceful and comfortable treatment atmosphere. It will also provide services such as augmented reality, virtual reality; advanced audio and entertainment systems; digital access to the medical file and the option of conducting Zoom consultations with the psychologist, dietician, social worker etc.

LABORATORY COMPLEX WITH BIO SAFETY LEVEL 3

National security considerations now compel us to establish just such a national laboratory complex, capable of conducting in depth research into life threatening pathogens, such as Covid-19, and to being able to transition into a diagnostic and testing center when needed.

RADIOTHERAPY MRI SIMULATOR UNIT

The MRI Simulator Unit performs the initial scans used for planning the radiotherapy treatment. MRI based planning (simulation) is critical to effect cure of cancer and preserve quality of life as it creates a 3-dimensional model of the patient based on MRI data which allows precise definition of the target and the surrounding normal tissues.

MRI AT THE MEIRAV BREAST CENTER

Established in 2007, Sheba’s Meirav Breast Center has become a cornerstone in breast cancer treatment, attending to more cases than any other medical institution in Israel, with approximately 16,000 patients annually. We strive to maintain and expand this one-stop clinic, which currently specializes in advanced early detection through to the latest surgical treatments available by way of an imaging unit, a high risk breast clinic, attending surgeons and plastic surgeons. Currently, the imaging unit performs 4,500 MRI studies annually and an estimated 2,500 imaging-guided breast biopsies.

The Impact of Sheba Donors

The New High Risk Pregnancy Department

Thanks to the generous support of our friends, Sheba established and equipped its new High Risk Pregnancy Department, which offers women and their unborn children a safe, comfortable environment. The new department includes an ICU, 20 patient rooms, physician rooms, an ultrasound room, an examination room, an isolation room, a nurse station, a patient recreation room, and more.

The New, Advanced Catheterization Room

Made possible by generous donations, the new, advanced catheterization room incorporates an innovative system that makes it possible to perform CTs, echocardiograms, and other specialized tests with 70% less radiation, maintaining the safety of patients and our dedicated staff members alike.

The ARC Innovation Center

A global healthcare innovation hub built thanks to the support of our friends, ARC, an acronym for Accelerate, Redesign and Collaborate, is dedicated to developing and implementing the processes that would redesign healthcare globally. By uniting leading medical and academic institutions with innovative startups and strategic industry partners, ARC cultivates an ecosystem that significantly accelerates healthcare advances – pushing the boundaries of medicine on a global level and helping provide patients worldwide with better care.
