Thousands were gathered at the Western Wall to offer prayers of gratitude following the miraculous recovery of Amichai Shindlers. Like many others, her life took a very unexpected turn on October 7th in Kibbutz Kerem Shalom.

When terrorists failed to breach the safe room where Amichai’s family sought refuge, they resorted to an explosive device. Acting as a human shield, Amichai absorbed the blast’s full force, which resulted in multiple life-threatening injuries. His right forearm was lost, and severe damage marred his left hand, face, and jaw. For hours, he clung to life in a physical state he never imagined he would be in.

Transported to Sheba, Amichai’s battle for survival began. Through extensive surgeries and unwavering support, he gradually defied the odds. From the ICU to rehabilitation, his journey echoed with resilience and determination.

At the Western Wall prayer ceremony, tears flowed as Amichai stood, a symbol of triumph amidst adversity. Surrounded by dignitaries and well-wishers at Yeshivat Hakotel, the celebration of life echoed through the halls.

Now adapting to a new life, Sheba continues to provide Amichai vital support, ensuring his ongoing recovery. As we witness his steps forward, we share in his joy and pray for continued health and happiness. This brave man’s story will continue to be a reminder to us of the indomitable human spirit and the power of resilience in the face of adversity.
