Sheba’s New Rehabilitation Initiative
The Need
The atrocities that took place on October 7th and the subsequent war, prompted Sheba to take immediate action. Our already busy medical center suddenly saw a growing influx of civilians and soldiers from the frontlines. Being our duty and privilege to ensure the highest standard of care for Israeli citizens, we saw a need to open a new inpatient rehabilitation department with 54 beds and have future plans to open even a greater number of beds, as well as rapidly expand our workflow capacity.
About the
Returning to Life Rehabilitation Unit
Sheba’s ‘Returning to Life’ rehabilitation unit is a highly advanced and contemporary therapeutic complex that brings together traditional therapy methods and some of the newest technological advances. The unit houses three rehabilitation pools, a rehabilitation therapy area, a gym. areas for individual treatment, as well as new refurbished occupations; therapy are and physiotherapy halls. It also offers patients telerehabilitation for remote care.
The Project
The Returning to Life rehabilitation unit will offer soldiers innovative medical care and personalized rehabilitation including:
Underwater Treadmills
- Are an innovative alternative to conventional rehabilitation techniques that helps patients who are unable to walk on the ground recover from serious injuries.
- Is equipped with a counter-current that can challenge the patient’s walking and balance.
Adopt a Patient Initiative
- A program offering donors the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our patients by way of donations
