Prof. Yitshak Kreiss has been the Director General of Sheba Medical Center since 2016, previously serving as the Surgeon General of the Israel Defense Forces. His extensive experience includes leading humanitarian missions to Haiti and Kosovo, and establishing a field hospital on the Syrian border during the civil war. Kreiss is also credited with creating Sheba’s esteemed Humanitarian and Disaster Response Center (HDRC), which played a pivotal role in providing critical aid in conflict zones. Notably, in 2022, HDRC constructed a Field Hospital in Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict.
