Future projects are set to include medical staff training and the potential establishment of an Israeli-run rehabilitation facility in Ukraine

Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, Sheba Medical Center has been proud to aid the beleaguered Ukrainian people. This aid, which is still ongoing, culminated in the establishment of the 66-bed “Shining Star” field hospital, a facility that treated over 6,000 people.

Recently, a delegation headed by Sheba Global Director Yoel Har-Even, which also included Prof. Elhanan Bar-On, Director of Sheba’s Humanitarian & Disaster Response Center, Prof. Amitai Ziv, Director of Sheba’s Rehabilitation Hospital and Mr. Amir Hason, the Rehabilitation Hospital Director of Administration, arrived in Ukraine. The team met with Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko and discussed future projects.

On the agenda were several aid initiatives focusing on rehabilitative medicine, including the training of local healthcare professionals on physical and psychological rehabilitation and the possibility of establishing a standalone Israeli rehabilitation center.

We are also happy to share that with a view to better understanding Ukraine’s needs, the Israeli embassy in Ukraine will host a conference in Lviv on May 30th, in which Israeli medical centers and rehabilitation facilities will showcase their capabilities and meet with Ukrainian officials.

In accordance with our creed, “Hope Without Boundaries,” Sheba remains committed to aiding the people of Ukraine.
