Sheba Achieves Top Ranks in 9 Medical Fields

Ramat Gan, Israel – September 18, 2024Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest medical center and a Newsweek ranked world’s best hospital for the last six years, announced today that it has achieved notable recognition in Newsweek’s World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2025 list with top ranks in nine medical fields.

Despite the ongoing war in the region, Sheba Medical Center remains at the forefront of medical technology and innovation, delivering advanced, high-quality care to every patient.

“Delivering high quality public healthcare is no small feat, but for us, it’s at the heart of what we do every day. Being recognized by Newsweek affirms that even in times of crisis, the routine care provided to Israeli residents remains world-class,” said Dr. Yael Frankel-Nir, Deputy Director of the Sheba General Hospital. “Just as all Israelis know they can rely on the health system as a lifeline in times of war, they can be confident they will receive the most advanced and professional treatments whenever needed.”

Sheba department heads commented:

“Being recognized as one of the best cardiology systems globally highlights our commitment to medical excellence, innovation and continuously improving patient care. Our skilled cardiologists, combined with advanced technology and multidisciplinary collaboration, enable us to offer personalized solutions and improve patients’ health over time. We are proud to be leaders in the field and to make a meaningful impact on global medicine,” said Prof. Amit Segev, Director of Sheba’s Division of Cardiology

“This is an extraordinary achievement and a great honor for Sheba and the field of heart surgery in Israel. It is the result of hard work across all departments at our center, including the cardiology, vascular, and thoracic surgery units. Our dedicated and professional nursing staff also play a crucial role—without excellent nursing, it’s difficult to provide high-quality care. This collaboration allows us to deliver the most advanced medical treatments, always keeping the patient at the center,” said Prof. Ehud Raanani, Director of the Leviev Cardiovascular and Thoracic Center

“We are incredibly proud of this international recognition, which highlights Sheba’s commitment to excellence, particularly within our women’s hospital. They remain at the forefront of science while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and patient experience,” said Prof. Eyal Sivan, Director of the Josef Buchmann Gynecology and Maternity Center.

“Our approach prioritizes high-quality medical care and a holistic view of patient and family well-being. We also focus on the professional and personal development of our entire team. Newsweek’s recognition of our cancer center reflects our commitment to a patient-centered approach and encourages our team to think creatively and find innovative solutions for personalized and effective treatment,” said Prof. Raanan Berger, Director of the Jusidman Cancer Center.

“This recognition reflects the significant advancements and accomplishments our department has achieved in recent years. Our department excels in various aspects of urology, both in Israel and globally, including uro-oncology, robotic surgery, endocrinology , functional urology, sexual medicine, pediatric urology, and male infertility. This success is a testament to our dedicated medical and nursing staff, who consistently provide exceptional care with professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity,” said Prof. Zohar Dotan, Chairman of the Department of Urology at Sheba Medical Center.
