Redesigning Global Healthcare at the ARC Summit
More than 1,000 global leaders from technology, healthcare and industry will be flocking to the annual ARC Summit on October 21 and 22 in metro Tel Aviv.
Speakers and participants include Israeli President Isaac Herzog; U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee; Bill Ackman, Founder and CEO of investment management firm Pershing Square; Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center; John Halamka, President of Mayo Clinic Platform; and Dr. Lucy Opatrny, President and CEO of the McGill University Health Centre.
Now in its 5th year, the summit will explore how healthcare is moving beyond the use of technology for individual tasks toward a fully connected system in which artificial intelligence (AI) is part of the underlying infrastructure. AI is increasingly supporting diagnosis, clinical documentation and decision-making, helping hospitals manage patient demand and connecting hospital-based care with treatment at home.
The summit will also examine how clinical needs identified by medical professionals can become new technologies, start-ups and drivers of economic growth.
Sheba Day: Innovation in Action
On Wednesday, October 21, international guests will take part in Sheba Day, the summit’s flagship event, featuring a tour of Sheba Medical Center and demonstrations of technologies already being integrated into everyday clinical practice to deliver more advanced, precise and timely care.
Highlights will include:
- AI-powered medical imaging: A demonstration of Aidoc, which supports radiologists in interpreting medical scans and identifying urgent findings.
- Smarter emergency care: A look at SmartER, Sheba’s emergency department platform, which automatically documents and summarizes clinical encounters, allowing physicians to focus more of their attention on patients.
- The future of medicine: A visit to Sheba’s Center for the Future of Medicine to explore emerging approaches to healthcare.
- Hospital care in emergencies: A look at how Sheba operates from protected underground facilities to maintain continuity of care during emergencies.
Global Leaders Discuss the Future of Healthcare
On Thursday, October 22, the summit will continue at the David InterContinental Hotel in Tel Aviv, with keynote presentations and panel discussions featuring international healthcare executives, industry leaders, CEOs of leading start-ups, Sheba experts, senior Israeli healthcare officials and investors.
Featured participants include Bill Ackman, Founder and CEO of Pershing Square; Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center; John Halamka, President of Mayo Clinic Platform; and Dr. Lucy Opatrny, President and CEO of the McGill University Health Centre.
Discussions will explore some of the most pressing questions shaping the future of healthcare: How can healthcare systems deliver care regardless of time or location? How can data be transformed into actionable insights and measurable impact? Where will tomorrow’s healthcare companies emerge? How will the role of patients evolve, and what will be expected of healthcare professionals in the future? And how can a clinical idea become a solution that transforms an entire healthcare system?
Prof. Eyal Zimlichman, Sheba’s Deputy Director General for Innovation and Artificial Intelligence and Director of ARC, said:
“This is the fifth year that the global ARC community has gathered in Israel. Collaboration among hospitals, technology companies, entrepreneurs and investors across countries is a major driver of change in global healthcare. It enables us to develop solutions based on real clinical needs, test them in different healthcare systems and bring them to more patients.
The future of medicine is not being built solely by technology companies or in laboratories. It is also being shaped inside hospitals, in response to the needs of patients and medical teams.
At the summit, we will explore artificial intelligence and the ways it can support healthcare professionals, improve patient care and help hospitals manage growing demand. The goal of this gathering is to turn international connections into meaningful collaborations and practical solutions that make a difference in the real world.”
