Jenna and Nicole Bendayan’s Journey of Support for Sheba
The impact of the October 7th terror attacks led sisters Jenna and Nicole Bendayan from Canada to volunteer at Sheba. What they experienced was unlike anything they had ever seen in another medical center.
In moments, the impact of the October 7th terror attacks spread across the entire world. Nicole and Jenna Bendayan recount feeling the trauma in their home country of Canada and seeing a rise of anti semitism. From that day on, she stated that everything about her life had changed and hasn’t switched back to normal since.
Volunteering at Sheba and Witnessing Resilience
Feeling the need to take part in the stance against Antisemitism and the atrocities committed by Hamas, Nicole and Jenna Bendayan decided to enlist as volunteers at Sheba. She later stated, “Here in Israel, they’re on the frontlines of fighting anti-semitism across the world and for the state of Israel. And Sheba Medical Center is also on the frontlines.”
One of the first aspects that touched the two ladies was the community atmosphere that ran through all the different departments and facilities. The eagerness they had to go the extra mile when helping soldiers, families and returned hostages. and the positivity they felt at Sheba. Despite the dire circumstances many of the recovering soldiers faced, they were all in high spirits in the ‘Returning to Life’ rehabilitation unit.

Testimonials of Inspiration
Nicole commented, “When I got here I was enamored by everything. It was incredible to see the attention to detail, the innovation. As someone in health and wellness, it really gives me a lot of hope and makes me look forward to the future of what medicine can be because of Sheba and I’ve never seen that or experienced that anywhere else in the world. “
For Bendayan sisters, what stuck out for her the most during this trying time was how the atmosphere allowed the injured soldiers to find solace and comfort within one another and really opened them up to share their experiences with the world, which during this time of war is especially important.
Thank you, Nicole and Jenna Bendayan for being a friend of Sheba.
